Remanufacture - Rail Industry.
Holman Engineering have a long term history with work for the rail industry. We hold so-called “grandfather” privileged rights as suppliers to Network Rail, formerly British Rail, meaning that our work has a proven good record both for service and quality of workmanship.
This historic relationship has resulted in Holman Engineering having a considerable level of experience and expertise in work within the rail industry and transport related activity.
Much of this work is subcontract from firms such as AMEC and Balfour Beatty and involves the remanufacture and refurbishment of components for mechanical signalling equipment as part of larger projects.
In 2003 we were pleased to be chosen to supply a total of 108 fully refurbished signal box lever assemblies for the West Coast Mainline Stockport junction project. Weighing around 75kg each and measuring 1.6 metres long these were called off in batches of up to 20 each every 10-14 days, presenting a unique logistical challenge in itself. All delivery deadlines were met and our part in the project was a complete success, for both us and the site contractors.
