We are pleased to announce the availability of our DIY rear disc conversion kit for the VW T3 (Type 25) and syncro, as detailed in the Automotive pages of this site.

The kit comprises our unique Caliper mountings in high-tensile steel, disc/hub centralizing rings, high tensile fixings to OEM specs and handbrake cables (specifically manufactured for this conversion). All hardware is zinc plated for corrosion resistance. We offer a hub machining service either on exchange (if we have stock) or to your own units on a quick turnaround.

The customer sources the service items comprising discs, pads and calipers (including pad carrier) from the first-generation Ford Galaxy/VW Sharan 1995-2000 MY from their preferred supplier. Brake disc is 268mm diameter x 10mm thick; brake pad is equivalent to Dephi LP565 and used on a wide range of VAG vehicles.

Please note the following: The minimum wheel size requirement for fitting this kit is a 15" rim, as per the caliper/disc donor vehicle. We have found that it is not possible to design a rear disc conversion that can be accomodated within the standard 14" wheel due to the bulk of the rear swingarm assembly.

Rear studs need to be replaced as a length increase of 6mm minimum is required. Typically the next standard length is +10mm at 45mm.
